Migration Agents

Every person who either works or volunteers at CASE as a Migration Agent must be registered with the 'Migration Agents Registration Authority' www.themara.com.au. To continue to be registered and to meet the guidelines for registration they must complete various Continuing Professional Development targets each year. This ensures that they are up to date with changes to the law and recent caselaw which might be relevant to our clients.

CASE is recognised by MARA as a place where CPD points can be earned for pro- bono work and at the same time enables Migration Agents to work for a good cause! To find out more please follow this link:

Other training opportunities that CASE offer include:

  1. Progressive legal training in migration law (domestic and international) and the associated regulatory and appeals processes, including supervision of junior lawyers and law students
  2. Cross-cultural training including training on cultural, geo-political, historical facts relevant to clients who come from many different countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe
  3. Training on working with interpreters
  4. Training on working with torture and trauma survivors
