Our work in 2010
In 2010 CASE for Refugees Migration section opened 213
files which assisted 665 people. We applied for 331
visas, including 56 protection applications and 275
family reunion applications. We also successfully completed
and closed 125 files. We received decisions on 87
protection and family reunion applications. We have a success
rate for our protection applications of over 70% and our family
reunion and humanitarian applications of about 60%.
Our clients came from 38 countries across the world and our
largest client groups are people coming from Afghanisatan, Sudan,
Zimbabwe and Burundi.
Of the 28 protection visa decisions where we received a
decision, we had a 71% success rate. Our Family Reunion success
rate is about 60%.
Our 74 active volunteers gave a total of 2267 hours
of work in 2010. Our volunteers include lawyers, migration
agents, law students and many others.
